+ Business and Life Coaching
+ What is coaching?
Coaching is a one-on-one, confidential, candid partnership between a client and a coach that is entered into for the enrichment of life experiences. A coach helps a client identify and prioritize personal and professional issues and then assists in creating strategies and empowering the client to achieve results. Coaching is not psychological counseling or psychotherapy.
+ Why does coaching work?
The most powerful advantage that a coach adds to a client’s life or business is perspective. An objective, knowledgeable third party sees the whole picture in a way that is almost impossible for those in the troubled situations. A coach’s most powerful tools are listening and questioning. Often, clients are the source of their own solutions. Experience, education, professional connections and intuition complete a coach’s toolbox.
+ What is a coaching meeting like?
A meeting may be in person or by phone and is typically scheduled to last for about one hour. Each meeting typically begins with a review of current circumstances and issues that are predominant and carry the highest emotional energy in the present moment. Depending on the need, the most appropriate process(s) is utilized to address the client’s need. Often, a meeting will end with a specific intention or assignment to be addressed prior to a subsequent meeting.
+ How can I tell a good coach from a bad coach?
A good coach acts and speaks without self-interest – this is not just good karma, it’s good business. A good coach listens and probes for deeper questions and deeper meaning, empowering the client to find his/her own truth-based solutions to the highest priority issues.
A bad coach does most of the talking – reinforcing self-importance and ultimately, disempowering the client. A bad coach is more interested in perpetuating the paid relationship rather than deeply knowing and unconditionally supporting the client.
One way to tell one from the other is to notice your gut-level first impression of a prospective coach. Listen to the sound of the voice and the notice the feeling of looking into his/her eyes. This impression is the voice of your intuition – it is always right! Next, take a test drive! Have a coaching meeting and observe the dynamic. Is the coach more concerned with convincing you of his/her qualifications and skills or is the conversation about getting to know each other without pretense and expectations.
+ What qualifies someone to be a coach?
While there are numerous organizations that certify individuals to be a coach, there is no regulatory body that licenses coaches. Therefore, a prospective coach’s credentials and qualifications must be individually and carefully evaluated. Check references, confirm claims of experience and successes, match your communication style and ultimately, follow your gut!
+ What should I get out of coaching?
The coaching relationship is a partnership. Each party is responsible for half of the ultimate benefits received. The intended benefits of coaching include:
- A trusted confidant who provides a sounding board; compassionate, uncompromising truthful reflection; and advice based on experience, pertinent education and intuition
- Improved interpersonal relationships or new relationships that are supportive, loving, honest and derived from conscious choices
- Measurably increased self-knowledge and self-accountability
- For business owners and executives
- Creative options to improve the bottom line and increase owner’s equity
- A shift in the workplace environment out of inertia, into unease and toward greater connection, trust, commitment and openness
- New ideas for conflict resolution, finance, marketing and/or operating efficiencies
- Increased clarity about professional strengths and weaknesses, business vision and alternatives to maximize professional satisfaction
- Access to a network of proven service providers and other trustworthy resources
+ How do Coaches work?
Professional coaches get to know the client´s strengths, weaknesses, beliefs and aspirations. A capable coach recognizes and prioritizes problem areas and utilizes effective tools and methods to address issues. A coach is an objective confidant, with no hidden agenda and no hesitation to give honest feedback needed at that moment. Too often people rely on co-workers, spouses, parents, siblings and friends that mean well, but just aren't capable of giving the insight and appropriate support needed for growth. A coach helps empower a client to create a more rewarding life.
+ Who hires a coach?
People who want to reach their full potential, who want to grow, make conscious decisions and reduce the negative patterns in their lives. Often, coaching support is sought by people who have already achieved a degree of success and are trying to reach the next level.
Candidates for coaching include individuals who find themselves not enjoying life enough and just can't escape a limiting routine on their own. A coach’s most powerful offering is outside perspective, as almost everyone “fails to see the forest for the trees” when it comes to making changes in our own lives. Often, it is people that are so focused on being successful that they need an objective, knowledgeable confidant to make sure they are on course and not overlooking imminent obstacles or efficient ways to overcome present obstacles.
+ Do I have to enter into a long-term contract?
No. Coaching and other processes can be billed on a session-by-session basis. Discounts are available by purchasing a series of sessions. Some clients start out purchasing single sessions until they are comfortable with the coaching relationship and decide how often they would like to meet, then purchase a series to get a reduced rate.

+ Character Types
+ What are Character Types™?
Character Types™ is a part of DreamWork ™ that describes patterns of how humans think and process information. These patterns underlie the repetitive nature of our interpersonal relationships, belief systems and actions in the world.
Although Character Types™ are determined by an individual’s date, time and place of birth and correspond to delineations of the Zodiac; Character Types™ is not astrology. While astrology foretells behavioral tendencies and events of the future based on the influences of the stars and planets, Character Types™ addresses the present moment and how humans think and process information.
+ What can Character Types™ do for me?
Character Types™ provides consistent direction to support an individual’s personal growth and well-being. In addition, interpersonal relationships can be enhanced through deeper understanding, compassion and adapted styles of communication.
+ Energy Therapy
+ What is energy therapy?
Energy therapy is intentional interpersonal connection through the energy field that makes up the universe. The work entails the conscious intention of an energy therapist to serve as a conduit of healing energies that flow between Universal Source and a client. The purpose of energy work is to support self-healing and experience personal growth. Sessions entail no religious observances.
+ What can energy therapy do for me?
As a result of energy therapy, clients may experience conscious and subconscious release of repressed emotional trauma, which can manifest as physical ailments. Sometimes, new insights into negative behavior patterns come to light. Clients often report a feeling of increased well-being and peacefulness. Remarkable physical recoveries have been attributed to energy therapy, as this therapy deals directly with the underlying cause of physical distress: dysfunction or imbalance in the human energy field.
+ What is an energy therapy session like?
The most profound benefits of energy therapy often occur subconsciously, though some clients notice subtle or not-so-subtle sensations as energetic shifts take place. Each session is unique, as a therapist responds to his/her own intuitive guidance for the benefit of each client. For maximum comfort and convenience, energy therapy usually takes place with the client lying on a massage-type table – always fully clothed. The work may involve hands-on contact or connection through the human energy field. Typically, sessions are scheduled to last 55 minutes and may include discussion of relevant life issues.
There is no action required of a client during energy therapy. It may be helpful and interesting to simply notice any physical or mental sensations, emotional reactions or the inflow of intuitive information.
+Does energy therapy work “long distance?”
Energy therapy may be experienced “long distance” without limitation and without dilution of effect, as distance does not diminish the healing potential of a session.
+ What qualifies someone to be an energy therapist?
Every human has the ability to influence another living being energetically. We influence each other with our thoughts, intentions and actions all the time. For example, you may have “felt” that someone is mad at you; or perhaps you have felt serenity or lightness in the presence of someone who is happy and at peace.
An energy therapist uses our natural energetic connection to support the healing and well-being of others. Personally, the therapist contributes only loving intention. Through this intention, an energy worker can resonate with higher vibrations from Universal Source. The effectiveness of an energy worker is partly determined by the therapist’s nervous system, endocrine system, aura and total mind-body organization. Other important factors in the effectiveness of an energy therapist are personal emotional clarity, awareness of personal truth and actions in the world that are based on personal integrity.
+ Where did energy therapy come from?
Energy therapy, or energy healing, has been practiced continuously for thousands of years, from the time of earliest human records on rocks and cave walls. The practice is derived from and guided by direction received from Spirit.
+ What is the human energy field?
It has long been known that activities of cells and tissues generate electrical fields that can be detected on the skin surface. The laws of physics demand that any electrical current generates a corresponding magnetic field in the surrounding space. Beginning in the 1960’s, technological developments produced machines that could measure the subtle magnetic fields around humans.
Subsequently, it has been discovered that all tissues and organs produce specific magnetic pulsations, which have come to be known as biomagnetic fields. In medical terms, pathology alters the biomagnetic field. In energetic terms, changes in the biomagnetic field cause pathology. For additional information, visit www.reiki.org.
